My life has always been defined and enriched by music. My exposure began early- be it Heifetz or Horowitz, Askenazy or Yo Yo Ma; sacred secular, Russian, Spanish, Pop, Folk, Jazz, Rhythm and Blues. This exposure to and love of music fashioned the course of my career.

I have 20 years experience teaching, of which 18 years have been using the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College of London syllabuses and the last 2 years the AMEB syllabus.

I apply a very structured approach to my lessons, which I adapt to the varied needs/abilities/desires of my students. I am happy if they are inspeired and excited by the music they make- be it a contrapuntal, classic or popular piece.

However music lessons are a commitment and the making of music is a disciplined art. Many areas have to be covered in a short time: Technique, theory, musicianship, sight reading, and general knowledge.

I also use music therapeutically and spend a day a week doing music therapy in an aged care setting. I am also interested in running small classes for pre-school  children doing music appreciation. As well as sensory and physical enjoyment these classes provide a strong foundation for learning rhythm, coordination hence acting as an effect catalyst for accelerated childhood learning and development.
